  1. What would be the best way to take 3 programs I have recorded onto 3 seperate DVD discs and re encode to fit them onto one disc.
I used the HQ setting so each DVD is 4.3gb long.
    Any ideas gratefully received.

I thought about CCE to make 3 mpeg's of about 1.4gb but what software would I need to compile the new DVD

  2. Pretty much any DVD authoring program will do this, I use/like DVD Maestro. As you said just re-encode your DVDs to lower bitrate MPEG2 files and author.

  3. Hi Vejita,

I have been doing something fairly similar. I have been capturing two or three episodes of a tv show with my Dazzle DVC2 card and it creates 3 separate MPEG files.

From these MPEG files I use TMPGEnc to join them all together and then Demux the audio and video so I can use IfoEdit to create a DVD where it will create the IFO files and the VOB files for you. Then if the size is larger than one disc, just run those through your transcoder of choice either DVD2ONE or IC 7.

I guess in your case, it's a bit different in that you are ripping these from 3 DVD's as opposed to having the MPEG 2 files already. My guess would be to probably stream process the rip so that you get two separate files (audio and video) and then join all audio and then join all video files and use DVD Maestro or IfoEdit to create the final DVD.

Not sure if that helps but please post your results if you find a good method.

  4. Yeah IFOEdit is freeware and can author, but only from one video source (That's why you have to merge everything into one big MPEG file). I would rip/demux to m2v/ac3 and then reauthor (less change of sync problems). But there's nothing wrong with merging then using IFOEdit to author.
