    can you add componets to the internal system of a standalone dvd player to make it play cd-r, cd-rw's svcd etc...? I have open my two Apex 1500, Sony dvp360, and i see the there is a couple of chips added the apex. so i was just wondering can compents be added to my sony standalone? crazy i bet

    I think most players that can play CDR, have a second laser to do so (hence dual laser). So I would say no.
