Capture quality depends on alot of things, not just your video card. While it is probably one of the most important you also need to take into account your processor, HD speed, what capture codecs you are using, etc. Whle a professional card is definitely going to look way better than a retail card you need to make sure the rest of the system is going to support it. To better help you what are your current system specs?

my pc p4, abit bd711 motherboard, 512mb memory and my camcorder is xm1, i used premiere 6.5. i've used tmpge and premiere 6.5 encoder but the quality still bad. what should i do to improve it?

Well it sure looks like your system is more than capable. Since you mentioned the camcorder I can assume that you're transferring from the camcorder to PC right? If so what program are you suing and how do you have it configured for capturing? Also are you using regular RCA type connectors or S-Video, S-Video will usually give way better reults when transferring from one source to another.

i used firewire normally (pro one capture card) with premiere 6.5 as a capture software and i've tried transfering using s-video and rca, all the results are bad.
