Sorry I know we've done this subject a lot lately.
But I have one more question.
    I am making XSVCDs at.......
    352 x 576 Res, 2520 Bitrate, 48hz Audio.
To be compliant for transferring to DVD later, does my video need to be CBR or VBR??
    Or doesn't it really matter??

    Cheers

  2. I just purchased my dvd burner and last night (using ulead MF 2), I put two movies that were CVD's using a variable bitrate, onto a DVD-R with no problem. I do not believe that CBR or VBR will cause a problem.

What I have learned is that you MUST close GOP's when making a CVD at 48 mhz audio or it WILL NOT (at least on the 5 movies that I tried before I gave up on it) author (at least in spruce up and MF 1 and 2).

I have about 140 movies that I am going to have to reencode again so that I can back them up to DVD-R.

I never close the GOP stucture, I just keep the correct lenght and I don't have any problems importing to Unlead Factory 1.
You also need to multiplexx your (x)CVD as mpeg 2 not SVCD!
