strip audio from mpeg2

hi there i need to know how to strip the audio from an mpeg 2 file,, i tried to load it with v.dub but got an error "Mpeg Import Filter: path synchronization error.. can anyone please help? i have been trying to do this for weeks now and it is really ******* me off...thanx

Can't you convert it with TMPGenc and save the Audio only?

hi tehre well i have managed to strip the audio from the mpeg2 but wen i goto convert it the sound does not match up with the picture. i have even tried to convert it using nero and its still the same...please anyone any ideas please

You could just dump the mpeg2 movie file on GoldWave and save out the audio to wave (and up the volume etc in the process). Then you can convert the wave to what ever audio format you want.

I use GW all the time for this type of thing and never have any sync probs.
