I used to be able to rip DVDs at 7x or more but now they wont rip any higher than 2x. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the Lite-On HD163 drive, well known for it's high ripping speeds.

    Cheers

    Check if DMA is enabled.

  3. Maybe a stupid question, but how do you verify that DMA is enabled in Win XP? I have the same problem w/ slow ripping.

    Thanks

I have changed to DMA if available but windows will only use PIO mode. Is this something to do with my BIOS settings, even though my other drive works in DMA mode
