  1. If I rip a DVD that is a DVD-9 in file mode with DVD Decrypter and the auto selected files wind up to be less than the max of a DVD-5 single layer DVD, can I go and burn the newly created VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD-R disc or must it still be compressed with DVD2ONE?
    Thanks

  2. ??? I think what you're asking is if you rip just the main movie (normally in IFO mode, not file mode) and the main movie is less than 4.7GB can you just burn that ripped VIDEO_TS folder.

No, you need to copy the VTS files too, and modify them. You can do this with IFOEdit (or DVD2ONE). I've never used DVD2ONE but IFOEdit it pretty easy there are guides on this here and at doom9.org basically thou:

    1) Rip the entire DVD to HD (all files)
    2) Run IFOEdit
    3) Choose the VIDEO_TS.IFO file that contains the main movie
    4) Notice the VOB IDs for the main movie
    5) Click on "VOB Extras"
    6) Choose the audio and subtitle streams you want to keep
    7) Choose the VOB IDs with the main movie
    8) This will generate a new set of IFO/VOB files with just the main movie and the streams you wanted to say.
    9) Last step click on "get VTS sectors" and that will generate/update the VIDEO_TS.IFO files

As I understand it, this is pretty much the same thing that DVD2ONE does (but with fewer features and a better gui/user interface).

  3. No, it is ripped in file mode which auto selects the main movie files and rips them into a VIDEO_TS folder.
Would this work if I did a stright burn from the VIDEO_TS folder, if the rip is less than 4.38GB?
