  1. Hi,

I don't seem to be able to get any kind of sound with vlc on stuff that I burn!

This is with version 0.5 and greater.

The same disks, VCD's or DVD's play with sound with pre 0.5 versions of vlc.

    Am I missing something?

    Search Comp PM
UP in the preferences or one of the tabs at the top, click the option that says something like OSX sound or sound with OSX
cant remember what it says exactly, but that should help you out.

  3. When I select macosx nothing happens,

If I select the configure button I get two tabs...

I am using apple pro speakers, I tried values of zero and one but still no sound

I also tried setting output to 44800 with no avail.

Anyone got this puppy working with sound, if so , what are your config parameters?

I am running 10.2.4 with plenty of memory and diskspace.

  4. Have you tried version 0.5.1a? It was a specific bug fix release for OS X.

    From the VLC website:

Release: vlc 0.5.1a for Mac OS X (18 Feb 2003) This is a bug-fix release of VLC for Mac OS X only: It fixes the problem with VLC starting up in a different language than your preferred language and an issue with sound missing on several files that previously worked perfectly. Download the new version of VLC for Mac OS X here.

  5. Sigh,

Still no joy 5.1a still will not play sound for me...

Any hints on what a working configuration for sound might look like?
