EDIT: Just realised I posted in the wrong forum, Sorry![]()
Hello, ive recently aquired a 105 DVD recorder andIve just started to backup some of my DVD's![]()
Ive managed to do a DVD5 to DVDR Backup no problem!
Im now trying to Backup my version of "Gladiator (R2) PAL", I rip the DVD using SmartRipper to my Hard Disk, I then use DVD2One to Re-encode the MPEG-2 Format to 4.3Gb (From 6.8GB), Then I go into prassi PrimoDVD and Pull the 2 Files i created (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS), and burn.
It seems to work ok on my PC, but wont play on my DVD Player (Panasonic A100), I know the Media Im using works because the DVD5 backup works fine!
Any Ideas what im doing wrong, Ive read the tuturials on this website and the Doom9 ones, but seem to fall flat every time.
Regards
Pete

Ive checked your machine specs to see if it will play the media your using.
Not all DVD palyers will play DVD R's or RW's this player has been reported as doing so but has very little functionality.
Can you try the disc you've made on another player if it works then your player is the problem. Worse case senario is you need to invest in a better player. I recently bought a player from richer sounds in the uk for around £100 that plays everything but you can get one for a lot less, perhaps if you went to look at players you could use this as an oportunity to test your disc, Richer Sounds are very helpful and wont mind. I did note that your player will not play CD-R/RW which is not a good sign and it doesnt play SVCD, but was reported as playing DVD-R.
Good guides for buying machines that will allow you to play most things in it are check that it plays both VCD SVCD even if you dont use this format the reason for this is that these players are made with dual lasers this allows the unit to read home made discs check in the DVD players section on this site it lists most players tried and tested including the machine you have but judging from the age you may have problems with authored discs
