Hi there,
Let's assume the following situation. I have an original DVD with selectable subtitles in say 5 languages.
I want to copy it to a DVD-R (following all necessary procedures) and also add subtitles in another language that didn't exist on the original DVD.
Let's say that i found the needed subtitle on the web in Subrip, MicroDVD, Subviewer or another usual txt file format.
How can i convert it and add this as a selectable subtitle on the DVD-R that i create? Is there a guide available on this subject?
Thank you.

DVD Maestro.
What you basically do, it's convert the text file to Spruce Up file *.STR (I think, not sure) and import it with the rest of the other subtitles. Or you can import the text file into SSA and then use MaestroSTB to convert it to *.son files (DVD Maestro subtitle format) and add it that way. -
I don't know since I *.son files, but try google.com... That's your best shot, look for STR(Don't know if the name is right) to SSA and vice versa SSA to STR and so on...

MaestroSTB can convert SSA files/scripts to useable subtitles? How do you do that?
Liru - take a look at http://divx.times.lv/subedit/ I haven't tried everything there yet but it looks like 'all the raw tools to do the shop' should be there.
I was planning to use the 3day weekend to try to take some of my Japanese LDs (capture and encode to m2v) and add selectable subtitles (I've got time texted file translations in jacosub format). -
Thanx for your replies ... any other suggestions are welcome.
Will try what you advised.

Thanks I just figured out that MaestroSBT is NOT the same program as Maestro NT
I d/loaded MaestroSBT from doom9.org and was able to convert JS -> SSA -> SON
Now all I need to do is figure out how to adjust the subtitle drift (which there are guides at doom9 for) and I'll be set. The problem with the subtitle text/script files is that the drift varies from PC to PC.
Thanks again.
