  1. Hi gang....

    I have an *.mpeg file that Windows shows as being 755 MB (791,889,056 bytes), but how on earth do I fit that on a cd?

    You don't have to cut if you are burning in vcd/xvcd or svcd/cvd mode.
    You can fit abou 795 MB mpeg on a vcd or svcd.

    If the file is a VCD compliant mpeg-1 file there will be no problem burning it to an 80 minute CD. IMO the two most popular programs used to do this are Nero and VCDEasy.

    The general labeling on CDs is for their mode-1 capacity. VCD's and SVCDs are recorded mode-2. A 80 minute 700mb "mode-1" CD will hold approximately 800 mb when recorded mode-2.
