I recently bought an Xcard. When I first installed it, it seemed to work alright (so-so), but now it's not behaving properly.

DVDs still seem to work fine (although the picture on PAL DVDs seem to shake slightly on my TV, is this just an artifact of playing a PAL source on an NTSC TV?), but MPEG files and the like don't work right. When I try to play them with the Xcard software, an X will appear on my TV screen and it won't play (it worked before). But when I try to play the same files in Media Player or other software, it will play them on my TV screen through the Xcard perfectly, although they won't display on my computer monitor.

Is there a way to play the files that work on my Xcard on my TV (using the Xcard software) and on my monitor (using MP or whatever) when I want them to, without constantly installing and uninstalling the Xcard software and drivers?

Similarly, since Media Player can play through the Xcard, is there a way to make software DVD players other than the Xcard software play through the Xcard? I'd like to be able to use DVDsubber to play fan-made timed subtitle tracks through the Xcard.

Also, I knew in advance that DivX files wouldn't work very well unless you encoded them yourself or something, but it doesn't seem to want to play DivX fiels at all. It will just give me an error saying that it can only play DivX 4 or 5 files, even when the files are indeed DivX 4 or 5. Although I won't really mind if I can't play DivX files on my Xcard.
