  1. I have been converting DVDs for a few months now... I use DVDx 2 to encode it to MPEG and cdrwin 5 to burn it.... when I play it the picture is descent but not the greatest.. I was ust wondering what software to encode it would give me the best picture to watch VCDs with.... my DVD player doesnt play SVCD... any help would be great thank you.....

    VCD's are of limited quality due to their resolution. If your DVD only plays VCD then you might want to try the "Header Trick" which works on some players to fool them into playing SVCD's. I've never had to use it but I think there is a guide, do a search for it.
    From what I understand: You create an SVCD-Mpeg2 (better quality, higher resolution than VCD-Mpeg1), then you change the header of the file and burn it as a VCD. With luck it works in your player.
