I started by using DVDdecrypter in File mode to rip an entire DVD-5 movie to HD. Then I made sure the files were in the right folder ie. VIDEO_TS. Next I made my first burn attempt on a +RW using the latest version of nero in DataDVD mode. It burned successfully and played fine on my Mintek-1600 V2, but not on my V1 PS2. Next I did the same burn technique but used a +R. That as well burned just fine, but would not play in either dvd player. I then burned another +R and also reused the +RW in nero but used DVD-Video mode. Again the +RW played in the Mintek but not the PS2, and the +R played in neither. Giving up on Nero, I switched to Recordnow Max V4.5 and burned the same movie files to the +RW in data mode and it worked in the Mintek as was expected, but not the PS2. That's where I stopped for now. I suppose I should try Recordnow with a +R, but I dont want a 3rd coaster.

This is kinda my first post, but lemme see if I can help. To my knowledge, the old ps2s in particular read -R/RW as opposed to +R/RW. So I think your doin' it fine, but your usin' the wrong format for the ps2, I think the newer ps2s read +R, but mine along with yours I think read -R...hope that helps, and I hope I'm right....take care.

Well, I tried Recordnow and got the same results. +RW works and +R still does not !!!!
I cant take this anymore, i'm losing sleep over this! HELP !
