I just hooked up my Sony dru500A today ,and did a test with an 85 min.captured film, spirit, for my daughter of course. It was captured with my ati at the preset dvd quality 720x480 8mb/s.I ran this through Mydvd that came with the burner, and in very little time i had a dvd that played on my toshiba 3750.The question is what advantage would there be in encoding the same mpg2 in tmpgenc, waiting 7-8 hours for the process to complete before burning.
If someone has done the comparison, was it worth it?The dvd+rw that came with the burner plays ok,and looks great.
So far so good with the sony.
Thanks
