    Hi All,

I am having a little problem...

I just captured a VHS using my Vitec DCM to MPEg VBR average bitrate of 5500.

When I look at the mpg file using PowerDVD it looks perfectly.
When I look at the video_ts directory using PowerDVD it looks perfectly.
When I look at the burned DVD (with Nero) with PowerDVD it looks perfectly.
But when I look at the burned (with Nero) DVD it has Artifacts in some parts.

My DVD plays ripped dvd (dvd2one) perfectly..

    Any guess?

    Regards,
    Jose Febus

    Hi All,

    This is an update.

I copied the original video_ts to another disc (Neso) and still have the problem.

I copied the original video_ts to another disc (Ulead DVD WS) and still have the problem.

I recapture the vhs at 4000 cbr and still have the problem.

Could it be the GOP I am using?

    Regards,

    Hi All,

I was playing around with the GOP size and noticed that when I reduce the GOP size I get less artifacts (mpeg garbage)... I noticed that I get good quality using a GOP size of 4.

Is this ok? Is there any problem for using a GOP so small?

    Regards,
    Jose Febus
