  1. I have all codecs. I can play all Xvid's (with varying quality) except one, which give sound only, blank black picture. This same file will play in VirtualDub just fine. I reinstalled my Xvid codec but still the same. What the heck is going on??? Win2k. Media Player v 6.4

I'm presently at work...just using my best guess.
Also running win2kpro and mplayer2 on my system..
Goto programs menu to Xvid Configuration(looks like a registry symbol)
launch the program; look under codecs, make sure Xvid is checked....I think.
If virtual dub plays the file, you have the right codecs...mplayer2 probably using divx5.X or something.

    See if that works....

  3. I don't have a config file for Xvid anywhere that I can find. I have Statreader, etc... and crap in the folder, that's all. I just realized only one of my Xvid's are showing a pic now. And when I go to File>Properties in media player there is no listing for Xvid when that Xvid is open. All other Xvid's show blank pic with sound. What the heck? I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled the Xvid codec. This is ridiculous. What the heck...

  5. Ok... uhh.. but I don't know what I could possibly send you. But, you let me know what you need and I'll screenshot anything u want (that sounded funny). All I can think of that's changed is I went to a different videocard driver, then back to the old one b/c I lost video quality with the other driver. I can put screenshots on the web if you're having trouble viewing them.

Presently on my system I have 4 different Codes

    ffdshow.exe
    ffdshow-DivX5-playback-filter.exe
    OggDS0991.exe
    OggMachinev0.5.zip
I download from news groups with movie the author posted.
    Example...
they would post avi file, supports(codecs) and nfo(how to play the movie)

  7. I downloaded two codecs, which I've played all my movies with successfully until now when Media Player just sporadically dropped the Xvid codec. "XviD-04102002-1.exe" is the Xvid install file, and I have the Divx5.03 bundle.

Maybe I should uninstall them and install the Nimo pack?

  9. Well geez. I'm thinking now all this video driver swapping has corrupted my os. I mean it IS Microsoft... Think I'm just gonna reinstall win2k as bad as I hate to do it. Win2k has also listed "Multiple Monitors" for the longest time when I only have one. Something's not right. I hate Microsoft... the half-asses.

I found what i was looking for

Make sure ffdshow; must currenty version installed then goto programs....ffdshow.....configuration....then look for codecs and check Xvid.

Xvid may not be part of or located in program files but as a system file in windows.
But try to send the sample none the less.
