  1. Ok I have some epsiodes of a TV show in widescreen Pal format div-x .avi and want to put them on a VCD. So far all I have been using is the default VCD PAL template. The source video is at 480 by 288 where the closest thing I could find is 16:9 pal for that so I use that. One thing that troubles me is the fact that the audio is 224 kbs on the new file where it is 192kbs on the source, could this be causing it to lose sych? This template I use works about half the time with keeping the audio in synch, which is odd. The only real variable in all these episodes is the resolution of the source which changes occasionly, could this be a problem? but they are always 25fps.

    Whats going on here?

    Thanks
    Mike

PS I have tried pulling the audio from the .avi with virtualdub and that does not help at all.

  6. HOLY CRAP!!!

I just realized that all the div-x files I was having audio sync problems with all used the DivX WMA V2 audio. I am thinking this might have something to do with it? Where could I find a new WMA V2 Codec?

    Thanks

  8. Ok due to lack of responses:
I now pose this question is there any program to covert WMA v2 audio to an MP3? I have tried with Virtualdub to .wav and that definitely does not work. Is there any way to manually adjust the audio in TMPGenc I have heard it mentioned but I have no clue how to do it?

Please respond even if its a long shot

is your problem, that the audio starts out fine and then starts lagging
ie.. the video comes before the audio
I have noticed thsi problem also...
but I think I narrowed it down to the frame rate of the original to the rendered output
    for example...
I converted asf to avi, 30.006 fps to 29.97 (ntsc)
audio starts out fine, and then slowly and accumlatively gets out of sync
hope this helps in troubleshooting, I'm still looking for a solution
one possible way is use hypercam, capture at a standard frame rate, and go from there

  10. Yeah I made sure I wasn't screwing up the framerate source FPS is 25.00 output= 25FPS. So I don't think thats it but thanks for replying.
