How can I research Music & Movie Industry Net Profit ?

I author a monthly Mag on my website and need to find out how much money the Music and Movie Industry make a year. If possible I'd like to compare that to their numbers from say 5 years ago.

Where can I find out how much money these people are making?

Any help is appreciated. Obviously the more reputable the source the better. Thanks in advance.

Try going to the official web sites of the different companies..ie Fox, Interscope..etc. Their earnings should be public record for investor information.

Already tried that. Their websites are more consumer/advertising oriented, which makes sense. If their earnngs were on their websites, the earnings were well hidden.

You are right in that the industry earnings are public information. I expect that an industry watchdog or goverment ageny would publish this in a public manner. I've been looking but havent found anything yet.

Go to quote.yahoo.com. Look up the ticker symbol, and you can eventually get to ther financial statements(balance sheet, I/S, cashflow and R/E). Its all there.
