hi,could you please tell me i use tmpgenc12a to encode from
.avi to .mpg1 and use nero 5.5 to burn as new vcd, this is fine but the actual graphics are blocky looking when the film is fast moving in particular, could you please tell me how to get a smoother finished picture,is it something to do with the settings within nero?or do i need extra software to remedy this problem...
thanks in advance, Andyman.

I'm new to this but I think it has to do with bitrates. Try using a higher bitrate to encode or use a variable bitrate. A variable bitrate alocates higher rates to parts of the movie that need it most and lowers it for the slower parts. Read this post http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=56964&forum=3&14 They talk about it alittle. Also try the tmpgen12 explained in the Video Articles section.
