I need to find an open UDP and TCP port on my school's network. I scanned 2,000 ports and none were open.

does internet explorer or anything use it n i could piggy back on?

How does WINMX work if u can't recieve TCP n UDP or can't send TCP and UDP.

Some programs of that type can work by tunneling connections through an HTTP proxy/firewall. I don't know about WinMX in particular, though, I'm not a big fan of the P2P stuff.

I think you're behind a LAN hub/router. It's the router that needs to be configured, not your PC. Find the ports that WinMX is trying to use (port 6699 for incominf TCP connections and port 6257 for UDP datagrams) and configure the router likewise.
