I was trying to encode some of the avi files by using TMPGenc, but when I tried to add the file, it only comes with video file, no audio file. I can watch it using WMP no problem, though.
Where did the audio file go?

    Thanks,

  2. Did you choose the avi file as a audio file as well

It will help if you told us what your process was to encode this AVI to MPEG.
May the force be with you.

  4. Sounds like you have a file that is using a xvid codec.

    Under Tmpgenc try..

    Option
    Environmental Settings
    VFAPI Plugins

    DirectShow Multimedia File Reader

Try changing the priority to 2 or 3 and see if it works.

If not you will have to use Virtual dub to split the wav from the avi.

    What out for audiosync

    Thanks, guys
Before I was trying to add this avi file as the source file in TMPGenc, it only shows in the video file tag, wouldn't show anything in the audio file tag.
according to rmacfarland's advice, I then checked the TMPgenc setting
and found that the priority of
    DirectShow Multimedia File Reader
was set to -1, and the others were set to 0, so I change the priority to 1,
Hey, it works. Now the same avi file is added in the audio file tag as well.
Can wait to see the result of the encoding.

    thanks again,
