  1. i backed up my heartbreaker movie. the movie is 2 hour and 3 minutes long and i used only 2 SVCD for that movie therefore the quality isn't at it's highest. The SVCD i watch alone was pretty darn good qualiyt but when i compare it side by side to the original DVD, i see some quality differences.

    1. color isn't as vivid as DVD
    2. details on people's cloth aren't as strong. wrinkles don't have depth on the SVCD
    3. in dark area the details are not shown. such as if theres vase in the dark area with little reflection. on SVCD it's just black
    4. Skin seem to be too pale
    5. Sound, ofcourse not as good

so can you tell me how well your backup SVCD stand up to the original movie. thanks

If your useing Tmpeg to make SVCD you could turn on the Output YUV data as basic, etc in the Quantizer matrix tab of the settings box. This will restore much of the color depth lost in the conversion process.

In the video setup box check 0-255 Luminance Range it will restore color depth lost in frameserveing. 4-pass is kind of over-kill. 1-pass multipass gives two passes and additional passes just waste time they don't improve the picture. Remember on each pass CCE is outguessing itself based on the vaf file from previous passes.
