  1. ok I have a nice lttle challage for you all i carnt do it so please show me how
i have a MPG file that Was A AVI i Used TMPGEnc to encode this simple yes ok
now when i use my avi encoder ie Vidomi it shrinks the aspect ratio down to 320 x 240 but in my DVD software and WMP it platys at about 704 x 280 or soming like that anyway here is a snip of video http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.rampton/Test%20video.zip
if i can encode it at a good size ratio then it would be excellent
and the full sixe is about 1200 meg so it needs to go on to 1 cd on avi

  2. If you are encoding to VCD specs, the mpeg resolution is set to 352x288 for PAL and 352x240 for NTSC.

  3. i dont want the end file to be vcd i want a .AVI file so it fits on 1 cd and a nice aspect ratio so you can see it perhaps 604 x 256.
the mpeg file has been converted from a AVI originaly so i can fit it on to 1 cd but this is where im haveing my aspect ratio problem converting it back to avi

  4. So you are converting from AVI to mpeg back to AVI, why ? Each encoding process introduces a quality loss so this is not a good idea. If you just want to reduce the filesize of the avi ( I am assuming this is a divx to start with) just reencode with divx at a bitrate that will allow the file to fit on 1 disc.

    Search Comp PM
    Vdub

    file > .mpg

    Video > Full processing mode
    Video > Filters > Add > resize ???
    Video > Compression > Codec >DivX ? > Bitrate > 400 ?

    Audio > full processing mode
    Audio > Compression > Codec > MP3 > Bitrate > 128

    SAVE AVI

You need to stop after a few minuets to check the output quality, lower bitrates, mean lower quality, but smaller size

i have a MPG file that Was A AVI i Used TMPGEnc to encode this simple yes ok
So why not put the original AVI on CDR ?, dont tell me you deleted it
