Sounds like an invasion of privacy problem to me.

  3. I think the M.P.A.A. and R.I.A.A. have law on their side in this case because according to the act any"service provider"has to provide names under subpoena.
Beware,if you upload/download copyrighted movies or songs "big brother" will know.

This remains to be seen and this could be overturned after an appeal by Verizon Communications.

The court ruling is so ridiculous and they, the RIAA expect to catch thousands of Internet users over copyright with the use of a subpoena to order any ISP to hand over subscriber name details and no judge's approval is required first.

I don’t think this will ever happen as this is unworkable, an invasion of privacy and very costly to implement. There are millions of Internet users worldwide so this would be enormous task and a cost to any ISP whether large or small. They don’t have the resources for this.

The ISP isn’t interested to catching a pirate. They are there to provide Internet access, not a policeman on copyrighted music. The RIAA should pay the cost.

    **** the RIAA.

The record industry is messed up. CD's cost like less than $.50 and they charge like $20 for them. Then they have the gut to go screw all these people with music. I mean come on. They make plenty of money...

Hold on, Didn't Bill Clinton put an Telecomunications act in 1996 to say that people cannot force ISPs to give information about their users?
