    Yes, thats what tmpgenc is.. an encoder.

    odd i came online today to ask that very same question... it quite happily transcodes nonstandard webpegs (such as music videos in batsarse 360x256 resolution), but i'm trying to do similar with a vcd, quality loss not an issue for once..... and it wont bloody work. just crashes, and windows keels over. hell until i used vcdeasy to de-riff it from a DAT file it gave an error box on attempting to load.

    pretty sure i saw this question answered a jillion times before, something to do with the import filters or summink so going to search archives - post if u like but dont hurry...

    Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

    Yes, you can re-encode your MPEG-1 file. :P
