    A simple question, I hope...

    If I multiplex a mpeg2 file using the same mpeg for both the audio and video, will it degrade the image quality? Would I be compressing a compressed file?

    No. You are just joining the video and audio when multiplexing.

    Even if the audio and video are coming from the same file? I'm doing this to repair a non-compliant file as mentioned in this post: http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=139449

    It worked, but the size of the new file is smaller.
