computer shuts down

have a weird problem... every time i put a dvd in my dvd-rom my computer shuts down,, dont know why but its pretty anoying, have tried several dvd's and still same problem,, i didnt expirience this problem before, but for some reason i expirience it now, anyone that can spread some light on this issue would be very greatfull.

Hmm, this sounds like an electrical problem. I would try using a different power connector from the power supply or even a completely different power supply if you have one available. If swapping power connector around doesn't work, you might try the IDE data cables as well, but I doubt this will do anything. It may be an internal problem with your DVD-ROM as well, so you may have to get it replaced. This sounds pretty serious, so if you aren't an expert at PC repair, I would suggest having the machine serviced.
