  1. I'm using XP with xp2000 cpu and 256m of ddr memory. And have the latest 4 in 1 driver for my motherboard. CCE when running will just disappear within 10 minutes sometimes longer, with no error just disappears. I then also installed the CCE patcher hoping to fix this and the no check-sum patch for any error I was getting about passes not matching, not sure but I think this was happening since then so i reinstalled and same problem. Could i have bad memory, I will try memtest86 but I feel this is not the issue. This is a fresh install of XP with only programs needed for TMPGEnc and CCE installed, but also no SP1"could this be my issue?"

  2. Hmm?? You too, eh?

I also have an AMD Athlon XP2000 (Asus A7V333 mobo/512M DDR). I came home the other nite (after initiating the CCE re-encoding process that morning) only to find everything shut off and finding a very small .m2v file ~315MB that CCE created)... hmmm??

Maybe system/chip temperature got too hot and caused the Asus/AMD over-heating protection feature to shut-down system??

  3. My system runs very cool, for my XP2000,1.75Ghz runs about 55c. Anyone out there just to explain better, my XP is not locking up or shutting down. CCE is just disappearing and leaving left 2 small files,.vaf and .m2v with about as far as it got before stopping-and always varies. I've tried the standalone version with the same result.

  4. You should really get the XP SP1 Update.

    Try this:
Start CCE encoding. Open Internet Explorer (IE) and go to a webpage ... say www.vcdhelp.com. Keep the IE window maximized and the CCE window minimized. See if that helps CCE finish multipass encodings.

  5. I've had the same problem with 2.5. I'm running W2K on an AMD/ Via chipset (I don't know if that matters). I have had to uninstall the progy and reinstall it several times to get it to complete. I do not have that problem with later versions only 2.5. Go figure. Also I use DVD2DVDR, which uses CCE2.5, and that never seems to have a problem, only when I use it as a stand alone.
