  1. I've been having a hell of a time trying to get a VCD to work. The first several I made using VCD easy, and they all came out totally pixellated. They will play on my dvd player or in windows media player, but you can't see what anything is and there's no volume. So I figured I'd try Nero. I made a vcd with Nero and imagine my joy when it worked on media player! So I put it in the dvd player and it worked great for 5 seconds, upon which time it just locked up. And I waited, and it never started going again. I ejected and tried again, same thing. I made a new vcd with a different video clip and the same thing happened. I feel like I'm getting closer to having a functional vcd, but I don't know why it always locks up after a few seconds. I have an RCA dvd player, no idea what model but it's about a year old, and I was using videos of tv shows I had downloaded; nothing that should be encrypted. Oh yes, and I was using regular el cheapo cdrs too, but I refuse to believe that the problem is I need to invest in brand name cds, especially since most seem to end up as coasters. Any ideas on what i can do?

You can get these problems if you burn your VCDs at too high a speed - try dropping the speed down - lowering the speed will give a cleaner recording.

There's a far greater chance of creating a well functioning (S)VCD if you stick with VCDEasy than if you use Nero to author. If CDRDAO (VCDEasys cd writing engine) doesn't work for you, just take the cue/bin that VCDEasy creates and burn it with Nero.
