I ripped a movie using CladDVDXP1.31 and when I came to pick up the VOB files using DVD2AVI I noticed the end credits were half way in the movie!
The end credits seem to be contained on VOB5, and there's a VOB6 which, as the end credits are on VOB5 has footage which shouldn't be at the end.
Has anyone come across this and is there a fix?
I seem to remember something similar with Minority Report, but I didn't solve that either.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Will

Well when you rip see if there are multiple angles available. Make sure you only pick the first angle if this is the case. You could always try a different ripper, DVDdecryptor is very good.

If it is obvious that vobs x and y should be switched, and everything else will fit accordingly, you can always just load the vobs in this order in dvd2avi. When you load the first vob it will automatically load them all, just go through and remove the last two, than load them individually in the correct order.

Hi Adam, thanks for the help.
I'll check it out tonight although I have tried switching the last two VOB's in DVD2AVI and that didn't work.
The reason was is that VOB 5 consisted of (in this order) comedy skeches (I'm ripping a live show of a UK TV series), then end credits and then comedy sketches again.
I know it was *all* VOB 5 as I checked it using the slide bar in DVD2AVI.
    Does that sound feasible?
I'll try ripping again tonight anyway, I have smartripper as well as DVD2AVI
    Thanks again,
    Will

Yeah sure, lots of dvds are like this. I've seen trailers stuck right in the middle of the movie, all on the same vob. If you rip the DVD in movie mode (or the equivelent depending on the ripper you use) it should straighten it all out for you. Just try a different ripper first, that might solve the problem.

  5. SmartRipper does a great job with picking up the movie regardless of where it is on the VOBs. You just need to choose the angle and the proggie will do the rest.

Hi Fox, thanks for the post.
I don't want to seem ignorant or lazy by not trying it but I'm not at home...
....is picking up the correct angle easy to work out?
It's something I've never considered before.
Also, can I follow this method for all dvd's I rip (at I won't come across this problem again)?
    Thanks,
    Will

Yes its very easy. I don't use CladXP, but I would assume it has this feature. In any case, if using Smartripper on a DVD that has multiple angles, it will automatically show you the available Angles if you are ripping in movie mode. Generally, just make sure you have Angle 1 selected, though sometimes you might have to switch over to Angle 2.

This picture shows you where you select the Angle, this DVD just only has one.
