I have a Sony DCR TRV520 Digital8 camcorder setup to do a pass-through capture from my VCR. It's connected like:
VCR -> Sony camcorder -> Firewire board in PC -> Pinnacle Studio DV capture/edit program
Both video and audio comes through to the camera just fine. I can see the picture on the LCD display and hear the audio through the camcorders speaker. In the capture program I can see the video, but no audio at all.
Pinnacles support site has some notes about audio modes (12 bit vs. 16 bit / ST1 vs. ST2) but from their forum, it sounds like the board can't deal with audio.
Do firewire connections normally do audio at all, or do I have to wire it through the sound board input? (ie - is firewire video only?) If anyone has experience getting this to work, could you give me some pointers?
Thanks in advance.
