I have burnt some video from my computer to play on my dansai 852 DVD which supports VCD & Svcd yet can't seem to play it at all,I am a real newbie,My cd writer is a ricoh,I hope this is in the right section!!,Any help greatly appreciated. REGARDS

How did author and burn the vide?
What tools are you using?

I am using Nero,But as for author etc mate I don't really know what this means!!

First, where did you get the video from, and what three-letter extension does it have (mpg, avi, etc)?
Second, what type of disk are you making? Are you creating a VCD or SVCD?
In Nero, you should be able to create a new VCD or SVCD pretty easily, drag your files in to the project, and burn. If Nero doesn't like a particular piece of video, it will tell you. It will either give you the choice of not using it or "reencoding" it to to make it fit the type of video that Nero needs.
If Nero can't work with it at all, then you get into more fun, and you'll have to use something like TMPGEnc to reencode it before Nero can use it (much more involved).
Also, make sure Nero is actually burning the disk, and not just doing a simulation, which can look like the real thing. -

,I was getting a message from nero regarding encoding,and tried burning them from my pc(source)both VCD & SVCD,They play fine on my PC yet not on my DVD(Dansai 852),I'm obviously diong something wrong but not sure what?
