would a scan converter work better than a video card with tv out to play videos on my TV. im looking for good quality more than anything. if any one knows any thing about them please post. if it would be a good idea to use one which one should i get

I got a cheap on from the local Fry's store called "AverTV mini"
I paid $89us for it and couldn't be happier. It has s-video, composite Video, and scart outputs. I use the s-video and have it attached to an old 8meg video board (generic S3 i think).
Some people only like to use the expensive studio quality converters but if you only want to watch videos part time or play games on the big screen then this thing works just fine.
I think it has a max resolution of 1024x768
