if i have a movie but i want to convert to mpg, but unfortunely the movie was in video tape media and i want to make a copy to mpg format, and what is the hardware and software requirment : tv,video and ... ? any one know please reply methx in advance.

You will need a capture card to record the content of the VHS tape onto the computer using a program like VirtualDub. There is a review section on capture cards to the left if you look. If you want more information use the search on the Topic Forum list. Look up "capture tape" or "capture VHS". If you have more specific questions try to go to another forum because this forum is more for general questions.

if you click the link to the left that says capture you will find an assortment of ways to capture, simply use the vcr as the source running into the input of the capture device.
