I recently downloaded a mpg file which is labeled xxxx_SVCD.mpg I can play it on my PC with WinDVD, but neither Windows Media Player or Real Player accepts it, so it really seems to be S-VCD

I tried to burn it for watching on TV (with a DVD Player which supports VCD and SVCD) using Win On CD 3.8, this is what happens:
Win On CD doesn't accept the file, neither in VCD nor in S-VCD mode
Checked the How-to's on this site and tried to load it with TMGEnc and with Virtual Dub - none of this programs is accepting it (invalid Steam and similar error messages)

I think that the file must be ok because Win-DVD plays it.

What can I do to burn it for watching with TV/DVD ???

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

WinOnCD rejects any non-compliant mpgs, while Nero will burn them without promlems. I would use a CDRW though, there's no way to guarantee it will work on your player.

Thanks for Your response. I don't want to install NERO since I made the experience that 2 cd burning suites, especially Win On CD and Nero, won't coexist one one system, and neither one will work after installation of the 2nd one. Ist there any other solution available???

  4. I would reccomend usinf Nero for all your burning. I dont know much about Win On Cd but Nero seems to be able to do every thing I've ever needed. No problems at all with either VCD'd or SVCD's.
