I ordered some Accu DVD-R media from cdrdvdrmedia.com on 12/27/02 which they said they shipped on 12/30/02. On January 6th I contacted them for shipping status because the UPS tracking number said that UPS had received electronic shipping information but that the item had not shipped. After spending over 2 hours trying to contact cdrdvdrmedia (they ignored my email of January 3rd) I finally contacted a live person who said that someone would get back to me. Four hours later I called back and was told that they were out of stock. I have no idea why they sent me an email on January 30th saying they had been shipped. I cancelled the order.
I then ordered on 1/6/2003 some Ritek media, plus cases from meritline.com. I just discovered that cdrdvdrmedia.com and meritline.com are in fact the same company. So far they have not shipped my order even though their listing says "Usually ships the next business day".
What has been the experience of other people in buying from these two places? I have usually been pleased with Yahoo affiliated stores but I am not pleased with these two.
Thanks, Art Prest

I have done business with both and have had good experience. I must admit, not during this 2 week period before and after the New Year. I've noticed that some orders I have coming from other sources are also showing "snail-like" turn around times.
Good Luck, think I am going to go with the Riteks at allmediaoutlet.com in the future, at .88 when puchased in 100pc lots and free shipping. Think comments regarding this outfit have been good.

I ordered some 200pk accu dvd-r media from cdrdvdrmedia.com and was suppose to have received them on Jan. 7 but found out that they were only shipped on Jan. 8 due to back order problems.

Those two outfits aren't alone. I placed an order from componentsdirect.com on December 14. They charged my card on December 18.
On January 3, the "order tracking" page of their web site still showed "pending."
I sent them an e-mail asking what's going on here (their web page says all e-mails will be answered in less than one hour). They never answered.
I dialed all three phone numbers listed on the web site.
1. Voice mail that didn't work. Prompted to leave a message, then in the middle of leaving the message was told they didn't get the message and told to start over. After repeating this three times, I gave up.
2. "Not in service."
3. "Not in service."
On January 7 (first day I could get to the bank to cancel the charge), I checked the order tracking page again, and it said shipped. It did arrive on the 8th.
But why did they charge my card way back on December 18????
And why did they never answer my e-mail?????
I'd have to say "buyer beware" when it comes to this outfit..... -
I ordered 50 pck of ACCU's from Meritline and what came was not ACCU at all. They refunded me price difference, but still.... they should not send me different madia that is marked as ACCU. I discovered it by checking manufac. ID.

Just my two cents, I ordered from Meritline and I too got the ups tracking number, two weeks later I got nothing, when i check with ups they deferred to Meritline not shipping all they had was a tracking number, I called them and they did not have them in stock, finally a week later they shipped, when I got them they where not a 2x dvd-r, but 1x dvd-r. They did take them back, but all that hassle put them on my black list. I will not buy from them again.
However, I have placed a few orders from http://www.allmediaoutlet.com, and I have not had a single problem with either their service or ther media. Everything has shipped on schedule and as ordered. Hope it helps! -
I just checked my order with meritline.com that I placed on January 6, 3003 and was supposedly shipped yesterday on January 8, 2003. According to the UPS sight once again it indicates as of January 8, 2003 that "billing information was received" which means that it hasn't shipped yet - 24 hours after I was told that it had shipped. Apparently this is their standard MO. Based on the posts here and the reseller ratings that I read based on another post on this topic, I think we should all boycott these companies!

I have used cdrdvdrmedia several times without a flaw, actually i got a smoking deal on my primedisc double sided 9.4 with cases and free shipping. Anyways, the holidays suck, stock runs out on these smaller outfits, when orders arrive the companies generate a ups shipping sticker with UPS World Ship which sends billing info nightly or whenever they allow the data to be sent, though that does not mean its shipped or been picked up, hence the billing info on ups's site. I wouldnt get my panties to farup my A$$ alot of these sites give you smoking price far beyond any retail outfit. And if theres a real problem F'em and call you C/C company. sometimes it is hard to please everyone, 100% of the time. allmedia is a good site as well

Used cdrdvdrmedia twice to order Accu DVD-R media. Shipped within 1 day ground, received within 5 days from CA to AL. 83 cents/disc Accu DVD media only first order (100), $1.07 Accu DVD media disc with box 2nd order (100). Free shipping last order. Burns at 2X on my DRU500A with firmware upgrade to f, flawless cheap media.

I have dealt with Meritline before and I was not to impressed. The DVD-R's I order were supposed to be 2X but I only got 1X media. I think they pulled the old BAIT & Switched. Witch doesn't really surprised me. I think that's what I get when I place an order online.
I make it a habit to call in all my orders now just to make sure I have a name of the person I dealt with. So someone is accountable for any mistakes made on my orders.

I just received an email from meritonline.com regarding the order
that I placed on January 6, 3003 and was supposedly shipped yesterday on January 8, 2003. According to the email they don't have one of the things I ordered and asked if I wanted them to ship the partial order. I replied yes. So they waited for three days to tell me this even though they sent me an email yesterday saying it had been shipped. I don't have a problem with them being out of stock on something but don't tell me that ot has been shipped when it hasn't. In the case of cdrdvdrmedia.com I waited for a week before calling them repeatedly to find out they were out of stock and nothing had been shipped even though they sent me an email saying it had been shipped. Same company, different name, but the same problem on different products. Meritonline say on their homepage "ships the next business day" - it took them three days to tell me they didn't have it!
I just placed an order with allmedia.com. I called them to check availability and I live person answered the phone on the third ring and confirmed availability. Their shipping was less so I placed the order with 3 day FEDEX shiping. Let's see what happens.
I placed the original order on December 27, 2002 so I am getting impatient. -
I have ordered a couple of times from Meritline and have not had a problem with getting the shipments on time; in fact I was quite pleased with the last order only being confirmed on Tuesday and arrived Thursday (to Canada) However I needed to change the delivery address and they had not e-mailed me a tracking # so there was a bit of running around I had to do, they also did not respond when I e-mailed them asking for the tracking #.
Take that for what it's worth.

As I said I placed an order with allmedia. com today and four hours later I received an email that it had been shipped by FEDEX. On checking the FEDEX tracking number I was informed that FEDEX had picked up the package for delivery. I will keep you posted.

Thyings are going from bad to worse with meritline.com. I just discovered that yesterday they charged my Visa card for the full amount of my order and today they informed me that one of the things I ordered was not in stock and asked if they should ship what was in stock and back order the rest. I agreed not knowing that yesterday that they charged me for the full amount. Then I received an email once again that my order had been shipped using the original UPS tracking number. However the UPS tracking number provided the following response: "UPS has received shipper's billing information electronically. Billing information received does not indicate shipment pickup or drop-off. Please contact the shipper for more details."
This company is either incompetent or crooked!

There must be a lot of competition for buyers when it comes to the larger online retailers. Unfortunately, as a result of this competition, the buyer gets the short end.
When I ordered my DVD burner in 06 01, I had to cancel two orders because they said the drives were in stock but did not actually have any. Finally I found and verified a seller on E-Bay. -
I tried them all From Meritline, CDRDVDRMEDIA, Allmediaoutlet to Supermediastore. Not getting good result on both Meritline and CDRDVDRMEDIA. Allmediaoutlet are okay at first but got my last couple order mess up. http://www.supermediastore.com, so far so good. one disc error so far, I actually order a standard dvd-rw disc and receive a WHITE INKJET PRINTABLE. not bad at all.
Anyway. So far have not try sho4tech, I heard several comment about them but have not had a chance to try any order from them yet.
I'll post more to keep updated. -
Going off the original topic a little.
I had a very positive experience with hypermicro recently. I was on vacation the whole week of Christmas, and Monday morning, Dec. 23, I said to myself "Self, you'd better get a few more blanks, with all this time on your hands, you might go through a few more than normal".
So, I went to their website, and ordered 25 4X and 50 2X Riteks. As I was checking out, I saw that overnite shipping was only a little more, I clicked that, just to make sure I actually got them before the end of the week. After all, the next day was Xmas Eve, and then of course Wed. was Xmas.
I really wasn't expecting them until Thursday, but Tuesday morning, early, a knock on the door, and there they were!!
So hats off to whoever was working on Xmas Eve Eve, and thanks to hypermicro for such good customer service.
FYI, I have already commented, but their Ritek 4X are the "real deal" for the DVR-105/A05 (mine anyway). The 2X are gold/purple bottom, nice looking and seemingly well constructed, but they are burning on 1X on the 1.21 f/w. Still, they're only about $0.88 apiece.
Just don't buy them all, I will be needing some in a couple more weeks!! -
I used to deal with Mertiline, will never again. They substituted without even asking me on my last order. I tried the disks and they didn't work very well on my stand alone DVD player. Wanted to have them replaced and they wanted me to pay for the shipping again. To me, when a company makes a substitution on thier own they should be responsible to replace the item at thier cost. Not mine. Why should I have to pay double to have the correct item shipped?
