  1. I need help! All I want to do is rip a dvd, then crunch it down into one easy to view avi. I have been using Smart Ripper 2.41 to rip the DVD onto my hard drive and it works great. Then I have been using DVDx to encode it into mpeg.

First problem. The program only compresses and encodes the first VOB file and then stops. Do I have to do all the files individually? What gives?

Second problem. The video that is viewable is in a tiny little box. Can't I view this movie full screen at good quality? What gives?

In general I am not interested in VCD or the like, I want single file avi or mpegs that I can store on my hard drive preferably around 5 to 700 megs in size.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks!

  2. I use smartripper to rip the vobs, use dvd2avi, and then use tmpgenc which will give you an mpeg considerably smaller in size than an avi file, there is a guide on the left that will take you through the whole pprocess.
    I dunno...it might work
