  1. After much research, I've finally decided to go the DVD-R/RW route.

I've also read about all the current DVD writes and I've decided to get the Cendyne 4x as I heard they were rebadged Pioneer drives.

My question is, where's can I get this drive at the lowest price?

Please direct me in the right direction

    Any help is appreciated. 8)

Myself and 2 of my Buds just got them. Yep, they're Pioneer DVR 105's

We got them at Office Max, following rebates they were 150.00 so you couldn't beat it !!!!

Now just learning the authoring is a bitch...LOL. !!!!!

  6. you want to find deals and how to get them, where, the exact steps and all the hand holding how-to's

search for dvd or go through the posts manually.

if there is a dvd writer sale anywhere it will be posted here.

check everyday cause they sell out fast after the deals are posted

  7. Yes, anandtech rules.

Also, just as a hint - 99% of Cendynes are rebaged burners from other companies. The vast majority of their burners, are just Liteons.

As for the going to "-r/-rw" route I really don't think it matters. In 2 years from now when DVD burners are cheaper and faster you'll probably upgrade and their you'll get the "accepted" method.

    Got the drive from staples.
Can anyone confirm what speed the DVD-RW media it
comes with. Nero info says it is a Princo.
Some says the package comes with a 4X RW media.

    Thanks.

  9. Mine from staples DVR-105 came with bulk white top Princo DVD-RW 1x

I have re-written 3 times on it still working. Exact same stuff Rima.com sells. The advinfo readout of the Cendyne included DVD-RW matched my sample pack Princo DVD-RW word for word. Visually identical too. White top all the way to center hole.
