  1. Is there any firewire card or graphic card or software that will alow me to capture DV and encode to MPEG2 in realtime?? (on the fly)?

    New to this stuff, if you can't tell.

  2. If you have a firewire and studio 8 you can capture .avi, mpg, and preview quality DV.

    But if your computer info is up to date, don't expect it to work too well. A PII 350 may not be fast enough. Download some demos and try before you buy anything.

    if you have a storm2 - why are you even asking this question as you can capture DV and edit and encode to mpeg on it already .
