I wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this question, but here goes.
When I use DVD X Copy to back up a dual layer disc onto two single layer discs, I run into the following problem now matter what settings I use on the discs... I usually put all of the content onto disc 1 and choose "Start Normal" and put the second half of the movie onto disc 2 and choose "start with movie - abandon menu". I do this because since I put all the extra material onto disc one, I figure why have a menu pointing to features that are on the first disc.
Now here is where the problem comes in... The first disc usually works perfectly every time with no problems at all... The SECOND disc, which is the second half of the movie sometimes starts with the "wrong audio track". Sometimes it defaults to the "directors commentary" or something like that. The problem with that is, since I removed the menu from disc 2, I cant go and select a different audio track. Normally, I wouldnt care because you can simply press the "audio" button on my remote to change the audio track, but... that button doesnt always work!!! Sometimes on my APEX, I have noticed that either the Zoom button doesnt work or the Audio button doesnt work. It just throws a little hand up on the screen and pressing the button has no effect....
Now, at first I thought this was happening because I was removing the menu from the second disc, but just for the hell of it, I left it in on Star Wars: Episode II. Even with the menu, it still defaults to the "directors commentary" on disc 2.
Another thing thats odd is that not all movies do it. I have noticed so far that Star Wars: Episode II and A Beautiful Mind have both had this strange thing happen on disc 2. Is it something that DVD X Copy is doing or is it something that my APEX player is doing? Does anyone know how to fix this so that DISCS 1 and 2 both default to the same audio track??? Has anyone else had this problem before??
Thanks in advance for any advice/help...

I bet you are using versions 1.0, 1.2 or 1.3 I had nothing but problems with these I went back to their Beta version and its worked perfect ever since, of course there are not as many features in the beta bersion but at least everything works correctly.

I had a similar problem on Castaway (no audio track), but I was able to choose the correct audio type (I left the menu in on the second disk like you did) on the menu at the beginning rather than the default.

WHen you say "their Beta version", do you mean there is a 1.3 Beta, or a pre-1.0 beta version?? What kinda stuff is missing??? I wonder if they are aware of the problem?
I am using 1.3
I wonder why the first disc defaults to a certain audio track and the second disc defaults to a different one... I guess I will try and find the Beta software if it works...
Thanks for the suggestion...
