    loveo:

I am using dvdx 1.2 on a PentiumIII 600mhz machine. A 16x Poinner dvd rom and a 7200rpm 40gb hard drive. When I try to rip from the dvdrom onto the hard drive using dvdx1.2, I got three video underrrun warnings. It warned that the mpg file may not play properly. I viewed parts of the mpg file on the computer and did not encounter a problem. When I do the ripping, I made sure that no other applications are running. Is this a problem? Should I reencode?
How do I adjust the rate ctrl padding start, max, and mux rate setting to help with this situation? Thanks in advance.

I cannot help you with your question, but I have a tip for you.
The way you are ripping, is a fast way of destroying your DVD rom drive. Try to use a ripping program to rip to your harddrive first. (about 10-15 minutes extra)
If you do not have a large enough harddisk, then buy a second-one. In the end this will be cheaper than replacing you DVd rom drives.
