Ok, Im at my final step in burning my vob's to my DVD-R disc using Nero 5.5.9.0 (Toshiba SDR5200 Burner) but Nero will not even give me the option of DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO). All I get are CD burning options. What am I doing wrong! Thanks!

Have you tryed selecting your writer in recorder options!
Then where it says cd there is a drop down bar beside it.
Drop it down and wall there should be dvd.
then goto dvdvideo drag files into video_ts and then burn

  4. I have a better idea, upgrade to nero 5.10 for free. it will save you a lot of the hassle w/ DVD, should have the DVD option pop up with the wizard. But you should still remember to select your recorder in recorder options...

The DVD option DID NOT pop up when I upgraded to Nero 5.10. Nero will only see my DVD Burner as a CD Burner! What gives! Help!

  6. But windows explorer recognizes your dvd burner fine? If you said yes to that I will sheepishly ask you again if you have checked the recorder options dropdown in Nero. If you most likely said yes to that, then I will ask that you check out Toshiba's website for the latest drivers and or firmware upgrade or even FAQs about the possible problem you're having. Sorry I wish I knew more about your particular situation...

If nero is seeing the burner then the upper left hand corner of the file|new option should have a drop down that says CD. Click it and select DVD. DVD option SHOULD now appear.

Okay, sorry, I thought I had upgraded to 5.10 but I had not. Once I did, Nero saw the Toshiba. I went ahead and burned the contents of my VIDEO_TS folder (ripped part of Monsters Inc. with DVD Decrypter) and it went well. HOWEVER, when I put the movie in my standalone (Toshiba SDR 3750) the movie just hangs. The display on the standalone seems as if it reads the chapters but nothing.... I'm using Imation version 2.0 media burned at 2X. I know the movie worked becasue I played it in IfoEdit. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  9. did you burn the movie as a data DVD? Use DVD video mode in Nero when the wizard comes up. I haven't had any problems with that and my standalones... BTW I have done this with Monsters inc as well so I know that this method works..

  10. I have the same burner and had the same problems with Nero once I upgraded to the latest Nero. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled Nero 5.5.9.9 I have not had ANY problems whatsoever. I have burned roughly 50+ discs without any coasters.

From what I can understand the new version of Nero uses ISO 1.5 which is not as compatible in standalone players as ISO 1.2 which is what 5.5.9.9 uses. You might be able to selct ISO 1.2 in the latest Nero?

    hope this helps.

Hey Jeff. Thanks for the help. I tried Nero 5.5.9.9 but it will not recognize my Toshiba 5002. When I upgrade to the latest Nero It recognizes it right away. How do I get 5.5.9.9 to see it? Thanks!

Please explain what u are doing more. u said u are burning your vob's, have u authored them or just ripped some and stuck them in a folder. U can not just rip like half the movie and have it work with out usinf something like ifoedit to correct files first. I am sure u are doing the right things but if u give more info we can help.

    Gandy:

I ripped only the large files that Decypter selected (in this case the VTS_01_*) along with an ifo and a bup file. I then made new ifo's using ifoedit by choosing "VOB Extras". I then copied the orginal vob rips into the folder (video_ts) where these new files were made then selected "Get VTS Sectors" in ifoedit and checked my work and the movie actually played. Is that correct? To I have to burn the actual "video_ts" folder too of just the files within it? I dont think I can burn an actual folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  14. OK we have the problem soved already. U have to burn the folder. when your burn program see's a videots folder it tells it to make it dvd compliant. I would say using Recordnow Max has had great review some people are having problems with Nero 5.5.10.0, I have had no problem but some do. So u have to have the video ts folder and I would say get recordnow max. Will save u alot of work. also use RW media until u get it down. I am going to look at nero and write the steps down. and then post them here for u. I do it all the time but I do not want to forget something. Hope this helps u.

Gandy, thanks a bunch. By the way, I installed Nero 5.5.9.9 and now it recognizes my Toshiba! Also, when I step through the wizard and select to make a DVD Video I see that Nero actually shows the video_ts folder ont he far left! Do I just drag all the other files into the window to the right of it? Go ahead and post your instructions. Thank you very much!

Gandy, help! I did exactly what you said (I think). I burned the all the vob's and other files with the video_ts folder but still no luck! My standalone just says to check the disc. This is really gettin dang frustrating. I've made 5 coasters since buying this drive. I'm getting ready to give up and just purchase DVDXCopy, however I just found out that it doesnt support Win98. Please help! I just might need that tutorial of yours. Thanks!

Another thing, I clicked on "finalize CD" as it was unclicked and unclicked "simulation" as it was clicked. Were these moves a no-no? Also, whats the deal with "multisession?" Should I click or unlick this option? Thanks!

I have a panasonic lv50 player which only plays discs burned with dvd video in Nero.

The other templates in Nero for dvd will not play in either pc or Nero.

Recordnow disc won't play at all in standalone or pc.

Could someone give me some advice on what I am doing wrong ?

    thanks.
