  1. Hi just thought I would post this to see if anyone has the POWER.

1.I can reauthor to produce dvd backups on dvd-r which play on my Lecson DV900/Cyberhome 402 BUT NOT LG3200E.
    Using dvd decrypter/ifoedit/nero.

I can convert my vcd's onto dvd-r using .dat-mpg converting tool and author a NEW dvd using Mydvd.
These then play on my Lecson DV900/Cyberhome 402 AND LG3200E.

    My question is
Does anyone know about authoring from scratch as this to me seems to be my problem in order to play my dvd backups on LG3200E?????
    Thanks in advance.

Thats a little vague, what exactly do you want to do, what is your source material (own captures, downloaded divx etc), what tools do you have/use and what problems exactly are you having.

There are loads of guides on converting and authoring various digital video formats on this site, take a look at the left column and start reading.

  3. I use dvd decryptor, ifoedit, nero to successfully backup my dvd's(dvd-r)
When done this way they play on my Lecson/cyberhome BUT NOT MY LG3200E.

    Authoring problem I think.

I then tried an experiment just to see if THE LG3200E would play a dvd-r because all the links I have found suggest that LG3200E will not.

I put 2 vcd movies onto a dvd-r using Sonic Mydvd.
Put a menu on etc and burned using Sonic MYdvd.

The result was that DVD-r worked on the LG3200E SPOT ON.

It appears to me that I have probably missed an element in ifoedit in terms of creating the main ifo file needed.
Should I have kept the original Ifo file after processing cos I have been creating new ifo after processing????
If tomorrow doesn`t exist where shall we all be the day after tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Ok, now I understand what your problem is I am afraid to say I can't help as I don't use Ifoedit, sorry.

All I can suggest is that you continue to use MyDvd or some other commercial authoring app for you authoring from 'scratch' as you put it.
