I have the cendyne 4x dvd-r/-rw pioneer 105 OEM. My firmware is 1.00. Cendyne's site does not have anything about updating the firmware. However, I know that the pioneer 105 has firmware 1.21 out and I was wondering if I should update to it.
Thanks

I'm running 1.00 as well and I'm wondering the same thing. I'll upgrade as long as 1.21 still allows me to use cheap media.

I updated the firmware and havent seen a difference, I use Riteks DVD's, I never had a problem burning these(burned 35 disc's no problems), and they still work fine after the firmware, I have no idea what this firmware is supposed to do.
I did hear their will be a new firmware that will let us burm cheap media at 2X. -

Don't know if that's true or not but everyone should keep in mind that one of the major concerns that disk makers have is disks cracking when burning too fast. Sure does not seem worth the while to burn a Princo 1x disk at 2 x, just because you can. That was a big problem with cdr's as burning speeds got higher.
