    Hi there,
We all know that there are DivX movies around, usually in 2 Files.
In order to watch a movie at home, my wife demands spanish subs in it, so I have to make my VCDs (SVCD + Header trick) frameserving in virtualdub with subtitle filter, encoding in tmpgenc, cutting with BBMpeg, authoring in VCDEasy and burning in Nero.
The thing is that, when I have 1 AVI, I use 2 CDs fro de VCD, when the movie is larger than 2.5 hours I use 4 CDs, but I dont know how to do it on 3, when the bitrate for 2 CDs is to little, and for 4 is huge, I would want to save that extra CD.

    So, the questions are:
1.- Is there any way to join without A/V sync ploblems and that is 100% viewable on a stand alone DVD?
2.- If I just make the VCD in VCDEasy with 2 MPGs, is there any way to tell it that you don't want any delay or stop between files?
3.- Any other way to do this?

    Thx

You could join the MPEGs in TMPEGEnc. There might be a small "pop" sound for a millisecond where you joined the files. If that occurs, import the file into VirtualDub and than save the WAV. Import the WAV into an audio editing program and remove the noise. Then re-encode with the new WAV. After you get your huge movie file split it and enjoy. The millisecond delay is hardly noticeable.

In VDUB do a file/open, then do a file/append. Now you have both AVI's loaded in VDUB, and since your already frameserving, you done! Now you can make it 2/3/4 CDR's as needed.

SO, if virtualdub does the trick of joining the AVIs, how can I join the subtitles, mantaining the sync?

Would have to be external subs. You need a subtitle tool, and basically add the second set of subs to the first. However, you need to add an offset of the length of the first segment.
