ok i just got the card and after a while I had it up and running. I got the newest versio nof virtualdub, but when i capture the lipsync is off,how do I fix that? Ok sometimes if i am watching tv through wintv32, it will crash but the audio will still come through the speakers. Also some channels have tiny tiny thin clear lines going horzintal across them. Do you guys recommend any drivers or anything to help me out.I am wanting to capture in virtualdub, without lines and interference and also get the lipsync straightened out. I tired the huffy codec and the divx low motion codec, both were out of a sync. thanks

what resolution are you capturing at, have you tried to capture in BTYUV codecs. If you mean the audio is off sync when playing the captured AVI back, then its because your system is not fast enough to play back this huge AVI file, once you convert it over to MPEG the audio will be fine.
When I had a 500AMD, my AVI audio was always off sync, since going to a thunderbird 1.2 gig, the audio plays back fine. -
i was capturing at 320x240 and when i used different codecs I tried for the new divx 4.0 I picked 2000. I used huffy, i've tried intel 5.5.

Have you checked the VirtualDub option for using the audio card timing as the baseline so the video and audio don't get out of synch?
I have used both an AMD K6-2 500 and a P3 500 and did not experience any audio synch problems when checking that option in VirtualDub and VidCap.

Make sure you have line-in enabled for recording, it's not muted, and that its volume is turned up. You may also need to run the AudioSel.exe program immediately before capture to set the correct audio source.
Make sure you're using the latest VFW drivers off Hauppauge's web site.
The lines could the result of your capture card not gettign enough bandwidth. Some possible solutions for this problem are to disable the preview/overlay during capture, reduce your desktop resolution and color depth, swap the PCI slot your card is in, take out other PCI cards, try to optimize your BIOS, etc.
See my web site if you need help capturing with a WinTV-Go, which is what I use. You could also try capturing with AVI_IO, which sometimes keeps better synch.

I HAVE HUGE PROBLEMS SNC INSTALLING WINTV. OK First When I put it in, my modem wouldn't work. I fixed that one side had popped out when I was installing the Wintvgo. Now I get the Blue screen of death like at least 10 to 15 times a day. Also know my modem starts dialing as soon as windows load, which is annoying. Here is just a list of some of the errors i've gotten : explorer caused a general protection fault in module user.exe ,sometimes now when shutting down I get a blinking white line and white vertical lines, Winipc32 has cause an error in Winipc32. what is really annoying is the dialing for no reason. I tried to download and install windows service pack 2, but it would not install and said missing ntdl.dll or something like ntdl.I hardly got the blue screen or anything before installing all this wintv stuff, But i want to keep it for capturing and making SeVCD's of tv shows and stuff.

maybe I should give the specs on my computer to see if that helps. Windows ME
800 and i think 66 megahertz, I think (either 833 or 866 not sure which one)Intel Processor
20 Gig harddrive
And I've been doing defrag's and scandisk, regularly too. ok thanks

You've obviously got some serious issues with hardware conflicts, driver conflicts, or software corruption. The possible causes are endless, but reinstalling Windows may help.
As for the hardware conflicts, try to make sure your WinTV doesn't share its IRQ with any other cards. Moving the card into another PCI slot is a good thing to try. You can also temporarily remove all PCI card not essential to video capture to see if it fixes your synch issues.
