    does anyone know of any software that will convert mpeg to avi so I can use it in Premier for editing. Preferably uncompresed.

    You can open mpeg1 in VirtualDub for editing. Mpeg2 files can also be opened in VirtualDub after a few tricks (see Nicky's Pages, http://www.digital-digest.com).

    I'm pretty sure you don't want to convert mpg to uncompressed avi.
