Question about Mintek DVD player

I have a cheapo Mintek DVD player (i love cheap dvd players cuz they support everything)...

but I was wondering... when i insert a vcd I get a directory structure.now i know how to play the dat file and where its located but is there a way to get to pick up automaticaly? i'm not burning it with any menus and it still doesn't just play

I have 2580 version. VCD plays in it but not SVCD (at least I didn't find workaround yet). So for SVCD I'll just go to MPEG2 dir and select mpeg file and it plays fine (no pause though).

So what is you version of Mintek ? And is it realy VCD or XVCD or SVCD that you are haviong problems with ?

I have the D1600 and its svcd and vcds.

I also have a Mintek 2110

It plays VCDs (hehe, I only tried one VCD since that is all I own) fine so far

But SVCD it won't load up the intro, and when I pick the movie you can tell it reads about 4-8 seconds, plays it, and then pauses for about 2-3 seconds to rebuffer...

that and there are artifacts everywhere and junk.

I hope though there is a way to get SVCD to play on it...
