  1. Hi everybody

    I have three books (total pages 1236) which are quite old one is published
    in the year 1845 and anothers in 1876. The pages of these book are now
    yellowish and get torn if i try to use the books. Can anybody give me some idea how to preserve these books ?

    I recomind that they be placed in bags.

    If you can get ur hands on some Argon Gas, the Viel w/ the imprint of Jesus was stored in Argon.


    I imagine any Noble gas, except radon, will do.


    The big thing is to get rid of the Oxygen the bacteria eating the paper need to live.

    The pages are yellowing because they are oxidizing. Search the web for book preservation. They can be treated to stop this.

    You can also move the books to a controlled storage site.

    The books may also be saved to microfilm or video. Its not diffcult to phot-reproduce a book. Get creative with a camcorder and video capture card.
